Minister Secures Continuation of Rathcoole School Bus

The first day back to school was disrupted for many children in the wider Rathcoole area when their school bus failed to turn up to collect them. Children were left waiting on the side of the road in Redgap, Newcastle and Saggart for their coach which never arrived.

Local Fine Gael T.D. and Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald, was asked to intervene on behalf of the children and their parents to bring the matter to a speedy resolution.

“I am delighted to confirm that the school bus to Rathcoole’s Galescoil Chronain and the Holy Family Community School will be operating as normal from this evening onwards,” said Minister Fitzgerald on Friday, the second day of term.

“There was some confusion over this route but I am happy to say that this has now been resolved and the school bus will resume its operations immediately. I was happy to be of assistance to the school and parents and will continue to support families throughout Rathcoole, Newcastle, Saggart and Brittas,” continued Fitzgerald.
