Local TD and Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald TD, attended last Saturday’s dinner dance in celebration of Lucan Community College’s 25th Anniversary.
“It was a
fantastic night due to the hard work of the volunteers and staff of Lucan
Community College. It was great to see the legacy of the school’s 25 years as
past pupils, teachers and parents gathered to celebrate and acknowledge the role
the school had for them,” said Fitzgerald.
The dinner dance was held as
a fundraiser in Westmanstown Garda Club and there was entertainment all night to
keep the guests dancing.
“Lucan Community College is a focal point of
the community and I was glad to bring An Taoiseach Enda Kenny out to visit them
earlier in the year where he attempted a record of over 500 high fives! Both he
and I were impressed by the talent and confidence of the pupils and the
attention the staff give to each of them. I am sure that the next 25 years will
continue to develop the school’s legacy and I look forward to working with the
school in the years ahead,” concluded Fitzgerald.
