Minister Fitzgerald welcomes Saggart jobs announcement

Local TD Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Children & Youth Affairs, has today welcomed the announcement that American firm Charles River is to open a new office in Citywest Saggart, creating 30 jobs.

She said: “I am delighted that yet another company with a global reach is investing in the Dublin Mid-West region. Following major announcements by Microsoft and Digital Realty in recent weeks, this welcome news provides still further evidence that Ireland is viewed as a highly attractive place to invest.

“The financial services provided by Charles River will create precisely the kind of high-tech jobs this Government has strategically identified as suitable for our economy. Indeed, with announcements like this we are adding frequently to an already impressive track record of job creation in this sector.

“Charles River is a leading global provider of tech solutions for the financial services sector, and the establishment of this new high-end operation in Saggart is great news for the area. I commend Minister Richard Bruton and his colleagues at the IDA for helping to deliver this welcome boost, and I wish Charles River every success with their Saggart operation. I’m sure they will find the area to their great liking.

“As our country exits the troika bailout and our economy creates 1000 new jobs per week, announcements such as this one offer renewed hope and restored confidence in Ireland as a place to do business and create jobs. Charles River is accepting applications for its Dublin operations, and I encourage suitable candidates to apply right away - for details please visit: http://www.crd.com/Company/Careers.aspx ."
