Local TD Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Children & Youth Affairs has today (23rd January) welcomed the announcement that global pharmaceutical company Aspen is expanding Citywest base, bringing its total workforce in Ireland to 100 within12 months.
The Minister said: “this is very good news for the area, and demonstrates yet again the faith job-creating companies have in the skills of Irish workers, the belief they have in Dublin as a business hub, and the confidence they have in the Irish economy in general.
“Aspen have operated in Ireland since 2010, and established their centre of excellence at Citywest in 2012. The company specialises in generic medicines – a key sector targeted by the Government in our Action Plan for Jobs. I am delighted that yet another company with a global reach is investing in the Dublin Mid-West region.
“Following the recent major announcement by American company Charles River that it will open a new office in Citywest, creating 30 jobs, Aspen’s announcement provides still further evidence that Ireland is viewed as a highly attractive place to invest.
“I commend Minister Richard Bruton and his colleagues at the IDA for helping to deliver this welcome boost to the area”.
