Minister Fitzgerald welcomes €25 k capital funding for Quarryvale crèche

Local TD Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Justice & Equality, has today welcomed the announcement that HoneyBears Community Creche in Quarryvale Community Centre, Clondalkin, will receive €25,306 thousand in Government Capital Funding.

Speaking from her Constituency Office in Clondalkin, she said:

“This funding will be a very welcome boost to HoneyBears Community Creche. Overall, the Department of Children and Youth Affairs has allocated €2.5 million in capital funding to 163 grantees nationwide. The 2014 Early Years Capital programme was open to community not-for-profit services, reflecting the Government’s commitment to securing the sustainability of community services, particularly in disadvantaged areas.

“Community childcare facilities are vitally important, and from time to time they will quite understandably require repair and maintenance work.  Providing Government funding for this purpose will ensure that Community Childcare Providers such as Honeybears continue to provide the best possible service for local families.

“The grants awarded today will provide for essential repairs, maintenance or refurbishment and improved energy ratings in facilities such as Honeybears that met the criteria of this scheme. I know that the providers themselves, and of course, the parents who rely on their services, will warmly welcome this announcement".
