Summer Fun in Dublin Mid-West!

I had the opportunity to visit a number of the excellent summer events happening across the constituency in recent weeks. Many thanks to the organisers for inviting me and for all the participants for making the events so memorable.

Four Districts Day Care Centre Fete

I had the opportunity to Well done to Aine Ryan and all the staff and volunteers from the Four Districts Day Care Centre for organising a great fete in June. There was plenty to do for all the family and it was great to see so many of you there. I also had the opportunity to see the new bus the Centre purchased last year with lottery funds from my old Department of Children and Youth Affairs lottery fund.

Clondalkin Festival a great success

The Clondalkin Festival was a feast of summer fun and great events this year. I attended a number of excellent events, which showcased the village and local communities in all their splendour. It was my pleasure to present prizes to the fantastic art competition winners in Clondalkin Garda Station. Many thanks to the organisers and well done to all the winners and other talented artists! The Garda Band played a stormer, providing a joyous backdrop to the festivities. As always, it was a pleasure to visit the Round Tower heritage site, and the tug-of-war was a particular highlight. Looking forward to next year already!

Palmerstown Festival

In further happy festival news, congrats to the organisers and participants who enjoyed the week-long festivities during this year’s Palmerstown Festival. Due to my regular clinics in Palmerstown Community Centre, I am fully aware of how important this annual event is to Palmerstown residents, and I congratulate the Community Council for its sterling work in making this such a proud annual showcase for the area.

St Mary’s & Commercials “StrictlyTogether”

Last month, Commercials and St Mary’s GAA clubs came together to stage a Strictly Come Dancing Fundraiser. All proceeds went back into the club to help with the teams and projects they run. The night was a great success, with 1,500 supporters packing out the Citywest Hotel to cheer on the local dancers and support their club. I got a special “backstage pass” on the night and saw all the hard work that went in to putting on such a fabulous show.  Congratulations to winners Davina Forde and Darren Murray, and well done to the organisers, dancers and supporters on the night’s success! A video of the night will be available over the next few weeks, to pre-order text 086-3821560.
