Speaking at the event, Minister Fitzgerald said, “I am delighted that Irish Distillers have marked their 50th anniversary of bottling at this Clondalkin facility with a further investment in this facility. This expansion will increase the bottling capacity at this site by 60 percent in the next 5 years.
“This announcement is good news for Clondalkin, and for the families who will have job opportunities at the expanded facility and through the construction phase of this €17million investment. This is another welcome investment in Clondalkin, creating jobs for local people throughout the West Dublin area.
“This expansion is another example of the success of Irish exports, which has been a key element of the economic recovery. We have seen unemployment drop from 15.1% to 9.8% since early 2012. Today’s announcement is another part of the recovery for Clondalkin and the greater area.
“I congratulate the committed management and staff of Irish Distilleries for their work over the past 50 years, and wish them the best with this investment,” she concluded.
