Fitzgerald announces continuation of scheme for inclusion of women in communities

-    Scheme to continue to give a voice to women
-    Government committed to ensuring supports for women’s groups are maintained

Local TD Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Justice and Equality, has announced the continuation of a scheme to promote social inclusion and equality for women. The scheme will in the future operate under the aegis of Minister Fitzgerald’s Department of Justice and Equality.

Good Morning,

May I thank the Chair of the British Irish Chamber of Commerce, Aidan Lynch, for the kind invitation to address you this morning.  I would also like to thank the Chair of this session, Richard Eardley, for the opportunity to address you on the relevance of Europe to the British-Irish relationship.  I believe it is important that we celebrate the scale and potential of our trade links but also consider the strength of the relationship that goes well beyond trade.

Fitzgerald Welcomes €26 million Liffey Valley Extension

-    National economic recovery beginning to take root locally
-    450 new jobs to be created as extension of Shopping Centre gets underway
-    Investment to bring a new Penneys store, six new restaurants, a cinema upgrade and a new civic space


Local TD for Dublin Mid-West Minister Frances Fitzgerald has today (24th February 2015) welcomed the imminent €26 million extension of the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre as a “massive vote of confidence in our area as a commercial hub and evidence that national economic recovery is beginning to take root locally”.
