The European Lens with Frances Fitzgerald is the first of its kind from an Irish representative in the European Parliament.
The podcast series explores the EU issues that currently impact the Irish public – bringing a needed and informed European perspective to a domestic audience.
Frances talks to political voices at home and experts across Europe to help listeners feel closer to essential European issues playing out in Brussels and Strasbourg.
The first episode, which is available from all usual podcast outlets, looks at the issue of EU Own Resources and taxation. It features Irish Finance Minister and Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe and economist with the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA), Dan O’Brien.
Frances also speaks to Portuguese MEP, Lidia Pereira and Dutch MEP and Chair of the European Parliament’s new Tax Committee, Paul Tang.
The contributors discuss how the European Union generates its own revenue through ‘Own Resources’, the future outlook for EU taxation policy and how Ireland is likely to be impacted over the next decade.
The European Lens is available from all usual podcast outlets now.
